Coaching Great Eddie Fogler Featured Guest

Coach Eddie Fogler is on the phone with Coach Arritt and Brooks Berry in the 7th edition of The Passing Game.  Fogler, who played for Dean Smith at UNC from 1967-1970, took three different programs to both the NCAA and NIT tournaments in his 15 years as a head coach (Wichita State, Vanderbilt, and South Carolina).  In 1993, he was named Coach of the Year by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).  He retired in 2001 and currently works as a television commentator and assists colleges looking to fill coaching vacancies.  He talks about that and more on the show.

George Mason's Jim Larranaga featured on Saturday's Show

(LISTEN) Jim Larranaga, head coach at George Mason University, will be on the phone with Coach Arritt and Brooks Berry in our sixth episode of The Passing Game.  Larranaga has been at the helm of the Patriots' program since 1997.  During that time his team has won 3 CAA Tournament Championships ('99, '01, '08), 3 CAA Regular Season Championships ('99, '00, '06).

Final Four Preview, Guest: Tom Konchalski

(LISTEN)  It is an honor to have Tom Konchalski on the show this week.  Mr. Konchalski is the editor of High School Basketball Insider and a longtime friend of Coach Arritt.  Dubbed "basketball's Kevin Bacon" in an SI.com article, Mr. Konchalski is well-known throughout the basketball community for his evaluation of talent and his publication, which is only available in print, can be found in coaching offices across the country.  Named one of the most influential people in sports by New York magazine in 2006, Konchalski runs his business out of Queens, NY.

Tony Shaver, the head basketball coach at The College of William & Mary will be Saturday's featured guest. In 7 seasons at W&M, Coach Shaver has posted a record of 87-124.  His career record of 445-245 (.644) is one of the best among active D-I head coaches. 

Wofford Head Coach Mike Young to be Featured Guest on Saturday's Show

Southern Conference Coach of the Year, and coach of the NCAA-bound Wofford College Terriers, Mike Young will be on the phone with Coach Arritt and Brooks Berry during this week's edition of "The Passing Game with Fletcher Arritt."  A native of Radford, VA, Young played for Coach Arritt's postgraduate squad in 1981-82 before attending Emory & Henry College where he was a four year letterman for Coach Bob Johnson.

Now in his 8th season as Head Coach at Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC, Young has helped the Terriers to a 26-8 record, the program's first Southern Conference Championship (regular season and tournament), as well as their first NCAA tournament appearance.  The Terriers face Wisconsin in Friday's 3pm first-round matchup from Jacksonville, FL.

Princeton head coach Sydney Johnson slated for Saturday's show

Sydney Johnson, the head coach at Princeton University, joins Coach Fletcher Arritt and Brooks Berry on this week's radio show.

Coach Sydey Johnson of Princeton University is an alumnus of Fork Union Military Academy.The youngest head coach in the Ivy League, Coach Johnson played for Coach Arritt on the postgraduate team at Fork Union Military Academy in 1992-1993 before being recruited to play for Princeton. Johnson became the only three-time captain in Princeton history during his All-Ivy League college career, and led his team to an Ivy League championship and a first round win over UCLA in the 1996 NCAA Tournament.

The Passing Game Radio Show Premieres on Saturday, March 6th at 9am

The Passing Game with Fletcher Arritt will premiere as a broadcast radio show on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 9:00am in Richmond, Hampton, and Virginia Beach. The program will be aired on ESPN Radio WXGI 950 AM in Richmond, and on Fox Sports Radio WXTG 1490 AM in Hampton and WXTG-FM 102.1 FM in Virginia Beach.

The show is co-hosted by Brooks Berry, a former college player and coach, who once played for Coach Fletcher Arritt as a postgraduate at Fork Union Military Academy (FUMA '97). Berry went on to play for Coach Gail Catlett at West Virginia University.  He has served as an assistant coach at the Division I level and has spent time in front of the microphone as a color commentator for the Citadel men's basketball.
